2017 Friends of Melana 5k Run/1 Mile Run/Walk
In Conjunction with Garrettsville SummerFest
The 2017 Friends of Melana 5K and 1 Mile fun run/walk is an all road race to benefit children's glioma cancer research. Enjoy a scenic route, great food, and great race atmosphere!
Friends of Melana was named after Melana Matson who was a young girl from Garrettsville who in 2009, was diagnosed with Glioma Cancer. Melana lost her battle just 10 months after being diagnosed at the age of 9. In Melana's memory, and for others affected by this disease, Friends of Melana is dedicated to helping fund the fight for Childhood Glioma Cancer. All proceeds from this race will benefit children's glioma cancer research.
This race is in memory of Melana.
