Dr. Cleveland currently serves as a Member of the Extramural Scientific Advisory Boards for Cancer Center and SPORE programs for The Roswell Park Cancer Institute, The University of Arizona and, most recently, as a member of the Extramural Advisory Board for The Blood Research Institute (University of Wisconsin).

Dr. Cleveland is also a member of the Developmental Biology study section of the American Cancer Society for 6 years, as a member of the NIH study section HEM-1 for 5 years, and he is now a member of the NCI-C Program Project Grant Review Parent Committee.

Dr. Gajjar's current clinical research interests focus on innovative protocols for the treatment of childhood brain tumors, with a focus on medulloblastomas, PNET and Rhabdoid tumors (ATRT). He is working with investigators in basic science laboratories to develop new chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of brain tumors.

Dr. Goldman, a cancer specialist and medical director of Children's Memorial Hospital's Neuro-Oncology unit, Dr. Goldman has participated in important studies of Hodgkin's disease and brain tumor treatments. He is committed to discovering and teaching new treatment techniques as an associate professor of pediatrics at Northwestern University. Dr. Goldman earned his medical degree at Loyola University's Strich School of Medicine.

Dr. Gururangan is a pediatric neuro-oncologist responsible for designing and providing care to children with brain and spinal cord tumors. Dr. "Sri" Gururangan focuses exclusively on the clinical care of children with brain tumors. Over the last 10 years, he has had extensive experience in the treatment of children with cancers, particularly brain tumors, in several premier institutions in the United States, England, Ireland, and most recently at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He designs clinical protocols, which utilize the newest advances in the treatment of children with these tumors.

Dr. Jakacki received her PhD in 1985 from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA . She is part of the American Board of Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Jakacki has two publications including: "Treatment strategies for high-risk medulloblastomas and supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumors." and "A pilot study of pre-irradiation chemotherapy and low-dose craniospinal irradiation in young children with medulloblastoma."

Mark W. Kieran, MD, PhD

Dr. Kieran received his PhD in 1984 from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and his MD in 1986 from the University of Calgary. He completed postgraduate training in molecular biology at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. After a pediatric residency in Montreal, he received postdoctoral education at Children's Hospital Boston. In 1997, he became director of Pediatric Medical Neuro-Oncology at DFCI. He also works on angiogenesis in the laboratory of Dr. Judah Folkman.
