Nick Berente is an associate professor in Management Information Systems at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He received his PhD and MBA from Case Western Reserve University, his BSBA from John Carroll University, and conducted his postdoctoral studies at the University of Michigan. He is a former technology entrepreneur, principal investigator on multiple projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and has published more than one hundred peer-reviewed articles in academic journals and conferences. Nick is he is on the editorial board for the National Institute of Health's Science of Team Science Toolkit and for the Information Systems Research and Information and Organization journals. He is also on the advisory board for NSF's Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE). Nick's research focuses on digital innovation in organizations of all sorts, including science and health enterprises. He lives in Athens, Georgia, with his wife, Michele, and their three children.
